This has got to be the easiest hand held meter to use for measuring AC electric fields accurately. Just turn the switch on and take your readings. 4½-digit readout is in V/m. Sensitive from 1 - 19,999 V/m. 2% accuracy from 40 Hz to 20 kHz, but can be used up to 100 kHz. 9V battery included. One year mfr warranty.
Digital Electric Field Meter (Cat. #A152-D) ..... $199.95
1-Axis Electric and Magnetic Field measurements
The Digital Combination Meter boasts several distinct advantages for a meter in this price range:
Perfect for home, student, or researcher.
Digital Combination Meter (Cat. #A480) …… $169.99
Not a toy but a real Electric Field detector! Features include LED indicator light, audible intensity signal, rotary on/off switch, and pocket clip. Does not give you a numerical readout, but it will tell you if high E-fields are present or not. Red LED lights when field is detected and audible tone gives indication of field strength and frequency. Useful for detecting and tracing live wires (50/60 Hz, 100-600v) and comparing safe distances from similar appliances. Rotary switch permits adjustment of sensitivity. Requires 2 AA batteries.
ELFLX Detector (Cat. #A195) ................................ $12.95
In situations where you may not know if a wire is live, it would be nice to have a warning before you make a dangerous contact. The AC Sensor is a hand-held device for determining the presence or absence of 50-600 volts AC in insulated wires, wall receptacles, fuses, junction boxes, switches and other voltage-carrying electrical systems. The AC Sensor determines defective grounds, reverse polarity, and induced voltage. It is not necessary to disconnect the system in question because no contact is required for operation and current flow is not necessary to locate voltage. Simply touch the plastic tip to a connection point or move it along a wire. If AC voltage is present, the tip will glow red and you will hear an audible tone. The audio alert reacts only to an AC voltage field, and will not beep when it comes in contact with a static field. There is no ON/OFF switch on the AC Sensor. Switches can wear out over time or even malfunction. Because the AC Sensor has no switch it is always ready to use! Suitable for indoor or outdoor use. Great for electricians, emergency responders, handymen, and hobbyists. CE, UL listed and manufactured 100% in the U.S.A. Uses 2AAA batteries, included.
AC Sensor (Cat. #A427) ......... $19.95
Providing RMS electric field strength readings over the frequency range of 5 Hz to 2 kHz, this handy meter does what no other meter in this price range can do. Two switchable ranges. Range 1 offers 20 V/m accuracy from 20 to 300 volts/meter and range 2 offers 0.1 kV/m accuracy from 0 to 10 kilovolts/meter. Simple to use, just set the dial to the desired range and take readings. Operates on a 9V battery which is included. Has a large analog display and comes with a complete 1 year warrantee. As with any E-field sensing instrument, you will find that your readings are more accurate if you do not distort the ambient field with the presence of your body. Simply placing the meter on a stable (non-conductive) surface and backing away, or taping the meter to a 2 - 3 foot stick will allow you to move your body far enough out of the way to avoid distortion. Now you can have accuracy in E-field measurements and affordability. Made in USA.

Electrostatic Locator (Cat. #A188) ……. $395.00
This hand-held meter is used for rapid non-contact measurements of static electricity and surface voltages. It is ideal for identifying the source of static problems. The sensor is a metal disk on the rear surface so that while measuring any surface or object, the display remains right-side-up, and your hand always remains at a convenient angle.
This meter has a high-resolution 4½ digit display that can resolve the difference, for example, between 19142 and 19143 volts, which allows precise measurements of charge buildup while buildup is happening. This is the only hand held static meter with such high resolution (but please note that the absolute accuracy of the voltage reading is subject to systematic errors that are larger than one part in 20000. Such errors include not holding the meter at a certain precise distance from the surface being tested). The typical maximum error is +/-2% of the reading, but the meter can still measure much smaller relative changes. This meter also includes a detachable one-inch spacer rod to standardize the measurement distance, when required. The range is -19.999 to +19.999 kilovolts. The increment, or resolution, is .001 kilovolt (= 1 volt). A reading of more than about 10 kiloVolts means that sparking is likely. Standard replaceable 9-volt battery life is about 50 hours. “LOW BATTERY” displays when about 1 hour of battery life remains. NIST-traceable certificate included. Made in USA. Warranty period is one year.
Surface DC Voltmeter (Cat. #A148) ................. $260.00
Antenna-type attachment for DMM which measures electric field in V/m & kV/m. Because electric fields occur whenever a voltage difference occurs, you can detect electric fields from appliances which are plugged in even if they are switched off. Unit produces 1 mV per V/m with 20% accuracy. Check outlets and electrical cords, especially in the bedroom. This sensor will determine the effectiveness of your electric shielding devices, and assist greatly in positioning your furniture. You will need a DMM which accepts banana jacks with 3/4" spacing. If you don't check, how will you know? (DMM sold separately).
Electric Field Sensor Attachment (Cat. #A182) .............. $50.00
Bonus!
Three foot long cable, BNC to dual banana female.
